So, you’re new here! Or just looking to visit?
That’s terrific! Welcome home.
It’s pretty simple, we’re friendly and happy to see you.
Location
If you’re looking for directions, that’s simple too. The address is 305 Royal Street, 71457
Homebase is on the corner of Hwy 1 South and Royal Street in East Natchitoches. We’re there, tucked under the trees, just across from the school board office. If you know where the Taco Bell is, congrats, you should see our sign close by, there on the corner.
What should I expect?
The front sign says bible study at 9:15. Sorry, but that’s on pause for the moment.
Our worship service starts at 10:15am, and people begin to show up between 9:50 and 10:05.
We have a printed bulletin, available in regular and large print. It’s based on the Divine Service I from the hymnal.
There are readings from the scriptures and responsive psalm, along with several hymns, prayers, and an encouraging Sermon.
We believe God is active through the Scriptures, Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper. His grace through Christ is beyond comprehension, His promises bring lasting peace, and His truths can change your life. We do all this in preparation for everyday life.
The service is usually about an hour long, and after, folks catch up on life and the previous week, and important lunch plans are discussed.
It’s been awhile since I’ve been to church, its new to me, or, I’m not LCMS, can I still come?
Well, yes, absolutely.
That’s what we’re here for. If you like, you can find out more about official practices and statements provided by the synod here.
If you have something else or would like more information, let us know in the contact form, or upon your arrival, let someone know you’d like to speak with an elder or pastor before service. (For this, early arrival is encouraged.)
I’m coming to a service that offers Holy Communion aka the Lord’s Supper… what should I make of that?
Sweet! We celebrate Holy Communion in this place. In this, we remember that the Divine is united with the created, as one, in the person of Jesus. This altar is the Lord’s table. Here, all are welcome who acknowledge their need for a Savior, and in doing so, look to Jesus. We believe what he says about the bread – “This is my body, given for you.” – and about the wine – “This is my blood, shed for you.” Thus, the Lord Jesus is truly present for his redeemed people in this holy meal. In this, we retain the divine mystery in the midst of his ordinary creation. Please introduce yourself to the pastor before service, and let them know your name and interest. Young children are welcome to this altar to receive a blessing, as are those who have not been instructed in the Christian faith. Please indicate your desire for a blessing by crossing your arms over your chest or by simply asking for a blessing.
I’m new to town (or will be) and am seeking my next home church.
That’s incredibly fantastic! Congratulations on your move!
We’re here with open arms. Several avenues of service are available, and new member orientation is developed as needed.
Let us know how we might assist you.
